Certification
This is a non-accredited training course tailored for students in Western Australia. Students who complete this course will receive a Statement of Attendance. This certificate is issued by Pinnacle Safety and Training (RTO 40496).

Course Overview
Safety and Health Committees (SHCs) allow businesses to work together with workers on safety and health matters. The main functions of a committee are to facilitate cooperation in developing and carrying out measures to improve the safety and health of workers. Not all members of organisations are aware of, or understand the purpose, functions or responsibilities of the SHC. After attending this training they will, as our course is focused on detailing those responsibilities and how to form and function as a safety and health committee.
Course Outline
Our Safety and Health Committee (SHC) training course is designed to provide an overview of the functions, responsibilities and roles that contribute to a successfully functioning committee.
This course will cover:
- Interpreting legal obligations, roles and responsibilities
- Understanding and practically applying the functions of safety and health committees
- When and why committees need to meet
- How to conduct successful and meaningful committee meetings
- Developing practical consultation and communication skills.

This course allows students to bring along work examples that may be included as examples in the course and activities. If you have any of the following, please bring along (if approved by your workplace):

- SHC policies and procedures
This is not a mandatory requirement and simulated examples will be provided as part of the course material.
