Pinnacle staff placement helps keep Haughton Solar Farm workers safe

Pinnacle Safety and Training is assisting Beon Energy Solutions with the provision of an HSE Advisor for the final stages of the Haughton Solar Farm project in north Queensland.

Haughton Solar Farm is a large-scale solar photovoltaic power station currently under construction approximately 40km west of Ayr and 60km south of Townsville.

Once completed, Haughton Solar Farm is expected to have a generating capacity of up to 500MW, enough to power approximately 170,000 homes.

CEO Paul Botwright said he is thrilled that Pinnacle is contributing to this project, which ultimately aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Queensland.

“We are very pleased to be providing a dedicated health and safety resource for this significant alternative energy project,” Paul said.

“This particular project has had a difficult journey with changes of ownership and challenging weather conditions,” Paul said. “Beon Energy were looking for an experienced HSE professional to provide structure and security through the final stages of construction and commissioning.”

“Pinnacle’s HSE Advisor is currently based on-site and will remain there until the project is completed.”

“He is essentially part of the project team and is providing health and safety support in the form of documentation review, management advice, performance reporting, induction provision, risk assessment, compliance services and more.”

“We recognise that even large companies sometimes need additional health and safety capabilities from outside their permanent pool of staff to meet the safety obligations inherent in large projects like this,” Paul said.

“For us, safety is not just a tick and flick exercise. Sometimes the capability needs to be based on-site and embedded in the day-to-day operations of a team to make a real difference.”

“We employ a large team of health and safety experts with experience in a range of industries who can assist our clients for any length of time,” Paul said.

“Our HSE professionals, WHS Consultants and Safety Advisors have a range of experience in shutdowns, mining, manufacturing, energy, transport and more.”

“Feel free to call us on 1300 990 810 to discuss how we can assist you.”

Good to see a company and instructor not just a tick and flick motto. I had done this course through another company a while ago and was nowhere near this standard.
