Certification
This is a non-accredited training course. Students who complete this course will receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate is issued by Pinnacle Safety and Training (RTO 40496).

Course Overview
This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills required to recognise situations that are deemed “work at height” according to health and safety legislation. The course covers national and state regulations governing work at heights, including the legal responsibilities of both employers and employees.
Participants will gain awareness of the requirements to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures to minimise or eliminate risks, including fall prevention devices, work-positing systems, and individual fall arrest systems.
Course Outline
The key areas covered in this course include:
- The definition of work at height
- Health and safety legislation and guidance documentation
- Suspension intolerance - identification and response
- Risk management, including identification, assessment, control and documentation
- Equipment and systems for working at height, including fall prevention devices, work positioning systems, fall arrest systems Safe use of ladders
- Prevention of falling objects Inspection requirements for equipment and processes for the management of faulty equipment
- Finalising operations, including dismantling, cleaning and storage of equipment
Each Trainee Must Provide
Participants must
- Be at least 15 years of age
- Have at least a Year 10 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills
- Have the ability to read and write English
- Use a device that meets the minimum System Requirements of Pinnacle’s e-Learning system (we officially support and recommend modern desktop or laptop computers running Google Chrome web browser). Other personal devices (e.g. phones and tablets) may be compatible, but due to the variety available, we do not officially support these devices
