Certification
This is a non-accredited training course. Students who complete this course will receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate is issued by Pinnacle Safety and Training (RTO 40496).

Course Overview
This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills required to recognise “confined spaces” according to health and safety legislation. The course covers national and state regulations governing confined spaces, including the legal responsibilities of both employers and employees.
Participants will gain awareness of the requirements to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures to minimise or eliminate risks, including legislated mandatory control measures.

The key areas covered in this course include:
- The definition of a confined space
- Common hazards and risks associated with confined spaces
- Procedures for identifying confined spaces
- Health and safety legislation and guidance documentation
- Risk management, including hazard identification, assessment, control and documentation
- Legislated mandatory control measures
- Confined space documentation, including rescue plans and permits
- Procedures and entering and exiting
- The role and responsibilities of the standby person
- Record keeping requirements
Each Trainee Must Provide
Participants must
- Be at least 15 years of age
- Have at least a Year 10 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills
- Have the ability to read and write English
- Arrive in suitable attire, including long pants and closed-in shoes if undertaking classroom training
For online training, participants must
- Use a device that meets the minimum System Requirements of Pinnacle’s e-Learning system (we officially support and recommend modern desktop or laptop computers running Google Chrome web browser). Other personal devices (e.g. phones and tablets) may be compatible, but due to the variety available, we do not officially support these devices.
